Established in 1978, DCC promotes fun and fitness through bicycling, participates in the recreational, travel and transportation uses of bicycles, and supports educational and legislative efforts for the safe and effective use of bicycles.

Slow Roll is a group bicycle ride that meets every Monday night in Detroit and has expanded into a national network of community rides. Each week they meet at different venues and take a unique route throughout the city, including all the major and minor neighborhoods.

Over the past 12 years they have dedicated themselves to the improvement of Metro Detroit water trails and public access for all. They offer Kayak tours, classes, and events for people of all backgrounds and paddling abilities.
Full service yacht club, with over 100 deep-water wells with open direct access to the Detroit River and Lake Erie, a ten-ton travel lift and two-ton single point lift. They offer a wide array of member events throughout the year, and they offer learn to sail and racing programs for both junior sailors and adults.
The Detroit Heritage River Water Trail is one of Michigan’s most dynamic and diverse water trails, traveling past the urban areas of downtown Detroit and the serene areas of the International Wildlife Refuge. The water trail is organized into four distinct paddling segments.
The Downriver Runners is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization and Road Runners Club of America member. They promote and encourage the benefits of running and walking to residents of the Downriver Area.
The Island Road Runners club provides support and encouragement to its runners and walkers, as well as promoting community fitness and awareness. They encourage runners and walkers of all abilities to join their group.
This hiking group distinguishes its hikes into two general categories, which are slower nature hikes meant for observing and adventurous hikes that cover more distance at a faster pace. Their goals are to educate and help all people to understand and enjoy Nature and outdoor activities for the knowledge and health of it.
